Dear bloggers,
Game Pigeon Won't Let Me Play Crazy 8 Games
I hope you are all having a good evening. I am in a blogging mood so I thought I would write something. I was about to say that I don't have much to write about but that is flat out not true. Tonight is Monday night of Labor Day weekend, and I had somewhat of an eventful weekend. We didn't have school on Friday so my weekend started Thursday night. Anika and Kelsey came over and we had a bonfire. We made s'mores and burned some papers; it was a good time. Anika was a real baddie and suggested that we put both milk chocolate and dark chocolate on our s'mores. I was a fan of the combo. I slept in on Friday and picked Dan up in the early afternoon. We listened to one of my CD's in the car on our way to school because I had to pick up some packets. That turned out to be a bigger hassle than I had anticipated, and we waited outside for about half an hour before we made it inside and waited in more lines for another half hour. We did all of that work for two packets and my final failed attempt to get my sweatpants from my gym locker. RIP to my OPRF Music sweatpants. I have tried to get them 3 different times to no avail, but I think this is my karma for not getting them that Friday in March. On a brighter note, we got to talk to Bobby in line at school. After that whole shindig, we went to my house and watched some Black Mirror and Avatar. I will use this part of the blogpost to say that I like Dan :) I dropped him off at home and I think we listened to my Dolly Parton CD in the car but I'm not sure. Saturday morning we drove up to Wisconsin and met up with my uncles and their families. The weather wasn't great this weekend for doing stuff on the lake, but we still had a good time. I made another good bonfire, but if I'm being honest, I was missing Lauren for most of the weekend. My younger cousins don't really want to hang out with me and my older cousins weren't there for most of the weekend, so I felt a little lonely. All was well when Taylar came up on Sunday. Shoutout to Taylar! It's kinda weird to think that the summer has already come and gone. Another season in the books might as well embrace fall and the school year now. We got home tonight around 8:30, and now I've just been hanging out with Juno. I should be working on some college application stuff and truly this post is just an embodiment of my procrastination. Alas, the post is written and the time has already been wasted. I am trying to manifest that this will be a good week. I hope you all stay healthy and have a wonderful week.
How could I forget?! I totally forgot to mention the reason that I titled the blog this name! Okay so there is a song by Tim McGraw called 'Something Like That.' The first lines of the song are 'It was Labor Day weekend I was 17 / I bought a coke and some gasoline / And I drove out to the county fair' and it is Labor Day weekend and I am 17! I literally I have been waiting probably since last summer for this very weekend to talk about this song. I didn't go to the county fair or buy gasoline or a coke, but I played the song a couple times. You can ask Dan I was so excited about the song. I won't ask you to do much, just please listen to the song. Especially if you are 17 on this Labor Day weekend. It is a special experience. Here is the link to the song I hope you listen to it.
