Game description It's a simple target shooting game. You're not really hunting anything. If you consider this hunting, you would consider reading a menu to be eating. Trapshooting is one of the three major disciplines of competitive clay pigeon shooting (shooting shotguns at clay targets). The other disciplines are skeet shooting and sporting clays. In trap shooting, the targets are launched from a single “house” or machine, generally away from the shooter.
Version 5 is the latest release of DryFire software and is supplied with all new systems.
Customers with Version 4 black dual head simulators may upgrade to version 5 via the store.
The photo below shows how to identify a Version 4 system by the '4' moulded into the camera head.
Important notes
- Version 5 will not work with single head simulators.
- Version 5 will not work with older green simulators.

Backwards compatibility
The world of electronics and software changes very rapidly. Microsoft and Apple release regular updates and upgrades to their operating systems and chips that were available a few years ago are no longer manufactured.
When we release a new chargeable upgrade to DryFire software we try to ensure that customers who have purchased the previous generation can upgrade if they wish.
Unfortunately we can't go back further than this. DryFire started out working on Windows XP (and older simulators still work on Windows XP - we know this because customers have told us!) and today's Version 5 works on Windows 10 and Apple Mac - see the support page for operating system versions we support.
Many printers and other peripherals that working 5/10 years ago may no longer work on the latest operating systems - because changes made by Microsoft and Apple make it impossible! DryFire is no exception.

For 20 years DryFire has helped Sunday shooters and champions improve their scores by providing intensive practice against highly accurate targets - all in the comfort of home. So, now is time to take the opportunity to spend an hour or two each day improving and honing your shooting skills with DryFire ready for the start of the 2021 season.
Using your own gun you can practise any discipline: trap, skeet and sporting, at any level: club, national and international. Targets follow national and international rules with the same angular trajectories, and the same angular speeds, as clays outdoors.
You select the layout or target you want, e.g. Olympic Skeet Station 4 doubles, stand in front of the wall or screen, take up your shooting position, swing back to your hold point, call 'Pull', acquire the target, start your swing, allow the correct amount of lead, fire and follow through - exactly as you do outdoors.

DryFire provides accurate feedback, to the nearest fraction of an inch, as to where your shot went: above, below, ahead, behind - the sort of feedback we rarely get outdoors.
